Derik Coetzer

Derik Coetzer is the co-founder of NOA Group and currently serves as Head of Sales, bringing over two decades of experience in energy, business development and investments. NOA is a vertically integrated IPP and renewable energy trader and has raised over R3bn to build and own large-scale wind, solar PV and battery facilities that will supply private sector clients in South Africa through wheeling. Since the founding of NOA in 2022, Derik has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and expanding its footprint in the South African renewable energy market. Prior to co-founding NOA, Derik was the co-founder of Energy Partners, a company focused on developing energy solutions for private sector C&I customers in South Africa. Under Derik’s leadership, Energy Partners grew to over 600 employees and became a significant player in the C&I energy sector. Derik’s earlier career includes roles at Sanlam Private Investments, TACA and Bain & Company. His extensive experience and leadership continue to shape the energy landscape in South Africa. Derik holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge and is a CFA Charterholder.
