Kulani Rikhotso is Investment Director at Climate Fund Managers (CFM), a leading climate-centric blended finance fund manager. CFM designs and deploys cutting-edge climate finance funds at scale and at pace, working in partnership to co-develop, construct and own sustainable infrastructure solutions that deliver low-emission, climate-resilient growth. CFM manages two emerging market infrastructure funds focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation: Climate Investor One (CI1), a USD923m fund focused on renewable energy and Climate Investor Two (CI2), a USD855m fund focused on water, sanitation and oceans infrastructure. Established in 2015, CFM is a joint venture between the Dutch development bank, FMO, and Sanlam InfraWorks, part of the Sanlam Group of South Africa. The firm invests across Africa, Asia and Latin America with headquarters in The Netherlands. Kulani has 15 years of investment and project development experience in the African infrastructure sectors. Most recently, he led on CFM’s investments in Norwegian solar tech firm Release by Scatec, development of a Senegalese solar PV and BESS project and a Nigerian renewable energy platform. Prior to CFM, Kulani held roles at the IDC of South Africa, GE Capital (General Electric), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
