Rory Ord

Rory Ord has 19 years’ experience in understanding the dynamics between private markets investment funds and retirement funds. He co-manages the R1.7bn 27four Black Business Growth Fund Programme and is the Director and Treasurer of the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (2018 – present). He created the South African private equity performance measures with SAVCA (2009). Rory has advised Southern African pension funds on their private markets investments and the establishment of private equity incubation programmes. He has a long history of analysing and valuing deals done by PE firms in South Africa and of creating and providing reporting to SA pension funds on their unlisted investment portfolios. Rory is a long-standing judge of several Africa private markets awards. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and has a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours in Finance and Accounting) from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from the University of Natal (Durban).
