Noah is a Senior Electrical Engineer who heads the Owner’s Engineering Department. He holds a BSc. Engineering (Electrical) and is a ECSA-registered professional engineer with more than 10 years’ experience in the engineering field. His previous experience includes utility, electricity generation, transmission and distribution and large, medium and small power generation sectors (coal, hydro, wind and solar). He has been involved in various phases of projects, from concept studies through to detailed design and execution projects. This includes indoor and outdoor substations, switchgear, motors and generator systems, network analysis and power systems (including power transmission and protection). With 6+ years as an Electrical Engineer at HV Test, he specialised in the high and medium voltage design, testing and commissioning fields for clients such as Eskom, ZESA, ZESCO, Sasol, Anglo Platinum and various IPPs. At Green Leaf Alternative Solutions (1 year), he optimised solar PV system performance, engaged in commissioning activities and ensured quality. As a Senior Electrical Engineer at HV Test Pty Ltd (2+ years), Noah provided leadership, resolved disputes and enhanced efficiency. His role encompassed business development, coordination and progress reporting, aiming to elevate technical efficacy within their team. Currently, as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Harmattan, he is involved in project management and interfacing between engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil and control & instrumentation). He also provides technical input from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility of the solar PV/wind/energy storage projects and integration with other electrical or generating plants as necessary. He is also involved in design and technology reviews, due diligence of renewable energy projects, as well as monitoring project construction and acceptance including site visits and commissioning supervision. Recent projects include construction monitoring for the 200 MW Selemela solar PV power plant, technical due diligence for a 50 MW Hambantota Solar PV, rooftop solar PV red flag due diligence for 30 hospitals and a 30 MW solar energy pre-feasibility high level review.
