Designation: Commercial Manager for South Africa, Africa GreenCo

Precious was recently appointed as Commercial Manager with the primary role of identifying business opportunities to commercialise in South Africa and developing long-term growth strategies for AfricaGreenco in this market. Precious holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Africa. She has 17 years of working experience in the South African electricity sector, in various roles spanning from technical to commercial beginning at Eskom generation, Eskom primary energy, to BHP Billiton, which demerged to form South32. Prior to joining GreenCo, Precious also served for over two years as a board member and director of Hillside Aluminium Pty Limited, a subsidiary of South32. In this role, she provided strategic oversight and direction on key energy and commercial matters, further solidifying her reputation as a respected leader within the industry. Precious’s leadership experience extends to her active involvement in several prominent industry organisations, including the Energy Intensive Users Group of Southern Africa (EIUG), the NERSA Grid Code Advisory Committee (GCAC), the Energy Council of South Africa, the Industry Task Team on Climate Change and the Intensive Gas Users Group of Southern Africa (IGUASA). Through her participation in these leadership structures, Precious has gained a deep understanding of the energy landscape, regulatory challenges and market trends, particularly in areas such as energy trading, regulation and pricing or tariff reforms.
